An incident occurred on the border between Azerbaijan and Iran.

The joint information of the State Border Service and General Prosecutor's Office says that on Monday, at about 8:45 pm 6 unidentified armed men crossed the border from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan at the border checkpoint of the border guard unit "Horadiz".

The infiltrators did not obey the order "Stop!", so the border guard opened fire and disarmed one of the infiltrators. The other five managed to escape. It was established that the neutralized infiltrator was Iranian citizen Behnam Balai (born in 1996), a Kalashnikov assault rifle and 32 kg 270 grams of drugs were found on him.

Iranian citizen Mohammed Zarehi Taghi was detained in the border area and the search for the rest of the infiltrators continues. The Iranian side is informed about the incident.
