The most important goal of the visit of OSCE chairman-in-office, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau is to understand Armenia's position on Karabakh conflict and security issues, Ambassador Pawel Czaplak told journalists on Tuesday.

According to his assessment, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was eager to hear Rau's proposals and Pashinyan received clear answers.

According to the ambassador, Poland's foreign minister conveyed opinions and suggestions that will be considered by the Armenian government in the next few days. "I cannot touch on all the issues that were discussed at the meeting between Zbigniew Rau and the Armenian authorities," he said.

The ambassador recalled that Zbigniew Rau visited Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia from 29 March to 1 April, which shows the importance Poland attaches to cooperation with South Caucasus countries. "The program of the visit to all three countries was the same. One special one was a meeting with Karabakh Ombudsman Stepan Gevorgyan. We consider Zbigniew Rau's visit a success," he noted.

Czaplak said that the meetings in Yerevan and Baku were closed, and not all issues can be touched upon yet.

"According to the agreement, the spokesman from Vienna will be the first to make a statement. We hope that the statement will be positive," the ambassador concluded.
