Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan received British Ambassador John Gallagher.

According to the press service of the Defense Ministry, the Minister introduced the interlocutor to the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and in Artsakh. Noting that the actions of the Azerbaijani side threaten regional stability and security, Suren Papikyan stressed the need for the international community to take steps to prevent the aggravation of the situation.

Ambassador Gallagher reaffirmed the UK's support to the efforts undertaken by the OSCE Minsk Group to de-escalate the situation and resolve the issues in a peaceful way.

The interlocutors also discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere and stressed the importance of interaction in the fields contributing to the development of military-educational, training and peacekeeping capacities.
