YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: Azerbaijan is engaged in the wok of the construction of an alternative road to Lachin.

We are informed from Syunik [Province of Armenia] that the alternative road—which is to pass through Tegh, Khndzoresk [villages of Syunik]—is almost completed.

The construction of the alternative road is envisaged by the terms of a trilateral statement. (…).

One of the goals of the construction of the alternative road is that it does not pass through Lachin. Thus, Azerbaijan can take the [Russian] peacekeepers out of the city and become the master and administrator of the corridor connecting Armenia to Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)].

The thing is that the trilateral statement did not stipulate which side will bear the costs of building the road. (…). According to our information, the Russian side has taken on full responsibility for this issue (…).
