Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The parliamentary opposition is convening another urgent discussion—this time on an economic topic.

Tadevos Avetisyan, an MP of the [opposition] "Armenia" Faction of the NA [(National Assembly)], recently put into circulation a draft on "The Impact of the Rise in Public Service Prices on the Living Standards and Economy of the Population (Current Situation and Things to Do)" topic of public interest.

It was presented on behalf of the MP, but it is the proposal of the whole faction. The MPs of the [opposition] "With Honor" Faction also joined the [respective] signature collection.

The substantiation states that the reason for the urgency of holding a discussion on this issue is due to the fact that the increase in the tariffs of utilities—[natural] gas, water, and electricity—[in Armenia] not only directly affects people's living standards, but also has a series of negative consequences for the [country’s] economy.

They also note that, on the one hand, the authorities reject the proposals of the opposition to increase the minimum wages, benefits, on the other hand, it do not offer adequate solutions.

The opposition proposes also that the governor of the Central Bank and the competent deputy prime minister take part in the discussion on this issue.
