The election headquarters of South Ossetian presidential candidates Alexander Pliyev, Alan Gagloyev, Dmitry Tasoyev, and Garri Muldarov have announced that Gagloev is leading.

"According to the information of our [election] headquarters—and our information is the same—, Alan Gagloyev is the leader after the processing of 80 percent of the ballots," said Alexander Pliyev, a presidential candidate and vice-speaker of the South Ossetian parliament, TASS reported.

Gagloev, Tasoyev, and Muldarov also have confirmed this information.

The election headquarters of the presidential candidates in South Ossetia have stated that the counted ballots indicate that a runoff shall take place.
