YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: In recent days, the interest of local and European officials and ambassadors in Syunik [Province] has increased again.
Last week, the British MPs who arrived in Armenia had visited the province with the [ruling Civil Contract Party] CC members, this weekend the CC MPs were in Syunik and the representatives of the Soros wing (…) of the civil society [of Armenia].
And yesterday the representatives of the UN Population Fund, the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, the EU Delegation to the RA, and the RA Human Rights Defender's Office, as well as the Lithuanian ambassador to the RA were in Syunik on a three-day visit. The visit was organized by the UN Population Fund. It includes visits to women's resource centers in Kapan, Goris and Verishen. (…).
[People] in Syunik recall in fear that there was such unprecedented interest in the province also during the days of the Azerbaijanis' invasion of the Sev Lake area.
