YEREVAN. – Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan is on a visit to Russia. Within the framework of the trip, the Armenian delegation was received Monday by Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach, the Ministry of Economy of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Kerobyan noted that Armenia is interested in deepening and expanding cooperation with Russia in industry, trade, and mutual investments.
Volvach, in turn, noted that the trade between Armenia and Russia in 2021 increased by almost 13% and reached $2.6 billion, while in January 2022 alone, mutual trade increased by 50% compared to the same period last year.
Also, he noted that there are more than 40 large Russian companies operating in Armenia, and Russia has invested about $2 billion in the real sector of the Armenian economy.
According to Dmitry Volvach, the signing of the Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Program for 2022-2025 and the development of the respective action plan can be one of the tools to find new points of joint development.
Interregional cooperation was also touched upon during the meeting.
The activities being carried out within the framework of the EEU were discussed as well.
