The right of Artsakh people for self-determination has been and will be the main guideline of the authorities' foreign policy, President of Artsakh Araik Harutyunyan said, Armenpress reported.

His remarks came at the meeting with the heads of the regional administration and communities of Askeran.

He said that the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination is not subject to bargaining is unequivocal. "We will not deviate from our path to independence," Harutyunyan said.

During the meeting, he referred to recent geopolitical developments and the steps to be taken in this context. The President noted that Artsakh is entering a new difficult phase due to the Russian-Ukrainian military developments.

Harutyunyan also touched on Azerbaijan's actions, particularly the fact that Baku on 24 March once again violated the provisions of the trilateral statement of 9 November, 2020 and does not hide its ambitions. "Azerbaijan violated the condition and, first of all, questioned the mission of the Russian peacekeeping forces," he said.
