The Azerbaijani side violated the line of contact in the neighborhood of Yarynja village of Martakert, an information report of the Russian Defense Ministry says.
The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in cooperation with representatives of Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh is taking measures to resolve the incident.
"The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to carry out tasks on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
At twenty-seven observation posts, Russian peacekeepers are monitoring the situation around the clock and controlling the observance of the ceasefire regime.
Violation of the line of contact by Azerbaijan near Yarymja settlement (Martakert) was recorded. The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in cooperation with representatives of Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh is taking measures to settle the incident.
Four convoys of the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan were escorted through the Lachin corridor: two in the north and two in the south.
Patrols were conducted along four routes in the Askeran, Martakert and Martuni districts and in the Lachin corridor.
Peacekeeping contingent engineer teams continue to check and clear the area from mines and unexploded ordnance. Within a day, one hectare of territory was cleared.
A total of 2,368.3 hectares of territory, 689.5 kilometres of roads and 1,937 buildings have been cleared of unexploded mines and ordnance since 23 November 2020 and 26,261 explosive objects have been found and defused.
To ensure the safety of Russian peacekeepers and prevent possible incidents, there is continuous interaction with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
