An armed citizen got to the 2nd floor of the Operational Control Room of the NKR Road Police in Stepanakert and shot from a rifle at the employee on duty, NKR Police reported.

"On April 16, around 22:25, Sergo Shakaryan (born 1969), a resident of Chartar, Martuni, illegally entered the 2nd floor of the Operational Control Center of the Road Police, located on M. Mashtots Street, Stepanakert and started shooting from an AK-74 gun at the employees.

The senior police inspector on duty, J. E., died on the spot from gunshot wounds to the chest.

Then, Sergo Shakaryan pursued the on-duty junior inspector with the same purpose, but he managed to dodge.

Shortly afterward, Shakaryan was taken to the police. A criminal case was opened on the fact. Sergo Shakaryan was arrested. Immediate investigative actions were carried out and a preliminary investigation is being conducted.
