Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Easter.

The head of state noted that the Armenian people and the church are celebrating one of their favorite and brightest holidays - the Holy Resurrection of Christ.

"The Armenian nation, which was the first in the world to proclaim Christianity as a state religion, seems to have repeated the fate of Christ. Revived after the Genocide, we passed with dignity through the thorny path of the 20th century, restored our independence and are looking into the future with confidence," the message reads.

Khachaturyan wished the citizens of Armenia and all Armenian families good health, peace and prosperity.
