Against the background of reduction of control measures, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia revealed more violations among foreign citizens and migrant workers for two months of the current year than the year before.
In particular, the number of violations of entry and stay rules increased by more than 114%, TASS reported.
"Despite the reduction in the intensity of verification measures, information on administrative practices received from the territorial bodies of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs show an increase in their effectiveness in terms of identifying illegal migrants and persons illegally performing labor activities in Russia", said a spokesman of the agency.
Thus, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in January - February 2022, 55.7 thousand administrative protocols were made in respect of foreign nationals for violation of rules of entry or stay (residence) in Russia, which is 114.2% more than a year earlier (26 thousand). In addition, the number of facts of illegal labor activity and non-compliance with the restrictions set for certain types of activities of foreign citizens, has increased by almost 22% and 88%. While over two months of last year these figures amounted to 5.5 thousand and 692, in January - February 2022 - 6.7 thousand and 1.3 thousand, respectively.
