MPs Vladimir Vardanyan and Hripsime Grigoryan of the ruling majority "Civil Contract" Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia have came up with a draft on amendments and addenda to the Law on Diplomatic Service.

Accordingly, they propose to introduce a civil service system at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) which will assist the ministry—and in accordance with the Law on Civil Service.

As per the respective rationale, as a result of the expected changes, it will be possible to form a group of middle-class diplomats at the MFA, thus enabling the latter to have a broader selection when appointing persons to various positions.
