I have no relations with the authorities. Former chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, Davit Ananyan, on Monday told this to reporters at Freedom Square in downtown Yerevan.

"The relations I have with certain people in power are professional and practical. I am fit, with my abilities, at any time and for any person. If anyone needs advice, anyone can contact me," he said.

To the question whether he might join the opposition fight at Freedom Square at some point, Ananyan answered: "If, as an ordinary citizen, I find that the time has come and my participation is very decisive, of course, I will be here. If I have to decide where my place is, my place is here. ”

And as for the remark that these political uprisings harm the revival of Armenia’s economy and the development of tourism, the former SRC chief noted: "The political situation has been like this for a long time; that is, it is unstable. I do not think these political uprisings will create any additional obstacles."
