The United States will provide Ukraine with an additional $500 million in financial assistance to help the country pay salaries, pensions and support other government programs, the AP reported, citing a Treasury Department official.
The new funding comes in addition to a $500 million economic relief package announced by President Joe Biden in March.
The statement was made amid the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the main topic of which was the consequences of the Ukrainian crisis.
The US Treasury Department recently introduced new sanctions against Russia.
