Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday sent a congratulatory message to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian on his birthday.

The message reads as follows, in particular: "In recent years, there has been a stable and steady development of Armenian-Chinese relations, the cooperation between the two countries is basically progressing in various domains.

"I attach great importance to the development of Armenian-Chinese relations, and I am ready to make joint efforts with you to raise the friendly and cooperative relations between Armenia and China to a new level—for the benefit of our countries and peoples."
