Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the Russian Foreign Ministry's special representative for normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations Igor Khovayev on Monday.

The sides exchanged views on the steps taken towards normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia during the meeting, APA reported quoting the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

The sides discussed the current situation in the development of a future peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the opening of all communication lines and the beginning of the delimitation of borders.

It was stressed that the Azerbaijani side is ready to take appropriate steps to ensure peace and security in the region.

Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry highlighted once again that Russia is ready to support the achievement of progress in all the specified directions.

The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest, according to the newspaper.
