The Resistance Movement of Armenia held an awareness march in the capital Yerevan Monday, and today it will continue from 7.30pm.
Also, a march to Yerevan started from Ijevan city Monday morning, in which the MPs of the opposition "Armenia" Faction in the National Assembly (NA) are also taking part. And this morning, the next group of the Resistance Movement will start marching from Tigranashen village of Ararat Province to Yerevan.
Before the start of the Resistance Movement, a group of members of the Youth Union and Nikol Aghbalyan Student Union of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party of Armenia blocked a Yerevan intersection Monday. The situation there became tense and a large number of special police forces apprehended four participants of this protest action.
A number of other youth disobedience actions also took place in Yerevan.
During this time, Artur Vanetsyan—the leader of the opposition "With Honor" Faction of the NA and chairman of the opposition Homeland party of Armenia who has been on a sit-in at Freedom Square in downtown Yerevan since April 17—and his supporters also carried out acts of disobedience. Also, they have closed off a number of streets in Yerevan since Monday evening and staged held a sit-in.
And in the end, the Resistance Movement and the marches led by Vanetsyan met each other at France Square in downtown Yerevan.
