The representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia may meet in May, in Brussels. The statement came from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with the participants of the international conference entitled "South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation," Haqqin.az reported.

It is especially symbolic that this conference is taking place in the Azerbaijani-occupied Armenian city of Shushi, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

The Azerbaijani leader stated that he is satisfied with the current regional configuration, and noted that an active dialogue is taking place in the region—and in the Azerbaijan-Russia-Turkey format.

"This 'triangle' has not been formed once and for all yet. But there are issues that are mutual—transport, energy—, and we have an active dialogue with both Turkey and Russia in various domains. It is too early to talk about it, but we are satisfied with the regional configuration," Aliyev said.

Also, he stressed that Azerbaijan has good relations with all countries in the region, including Georgia and Iran.

"I hope that there will be good relations with Armenia as well. As a result, we will be surrounded by stability. The main goal is that we be able to direct means—billions of [US] dollars—not for armaments, but for construction and creation," the Azerbaijani president added.
