We all know, I have repeatedly stated to the public that during the 44-day war, cargo planes with weapons regularly flew from Russia to Armenia several times a day. The statement came from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a meeting with the participants of the international conference entitled "South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation," Haqqin.az reported.

It is especially symbolic that this conference is taking place in the Azerbaijani-occupied Armenian city of Shushi, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

"We were following all the routes—from Rostov, Mozdok. We had asked our Georgian friends to close the airspace—and they did so.

Also, we had asked our Georgian friends to close the land route whereby weapons could be transported from Russia to Armenia through Georgia; they did that as well, and we are grateful to them.

We sent a letter to all the Caspian [Sea] countries, asking not to allow Russian cargo planes with weapons to Armenia. We sent it to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran. Sadly, those planes entered Armenia through the territories of those countries. That was the case, and we should not hide that side of the 44-day war," Aliyev added.
