According to an April survey conducted by leading company Metropoll, 42.1 percent of survey participants said they approve of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's performance as president, Ahval reported.

The number of those who said they disapproved of Erdogan rose 3.3 percent to 53.6 percent in April, while the share of those who did not respond fell to 4.3 percent from 6.5 percent in March.

Erdogan's approval rating has been rising since December 2021, reaching 43.3% in March.

Among those who said they would vote for Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party if elections were held next Sunday, the president's approval rating was 91.9%, down slightly from 93.3% in March.

The lowest approval rating for the president was among voters of the center-right opposition Good Party, founded by former members of the far-right Nationalist Movement Party, Erdogan's alliance partner. Only 5.5 percent of Good Party voters said they approved of the president's performance, while 90.8 percent said they disapproved.

Metropoll conducted the survey with 2,164 people in 28 of Turkey's 81 provinces between April 14 and 20.
