YEREVAN. - An incident occurred on Wednesday during the trial of Armenian serviceman convicted of killing of four soldiers.
The judge announced a verdict for Manvel Hazroyan sentencing him to life imprisonment, Helsinki Civil Assembly informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
After the verdict was delivered Hazroyan threw a bottle on judge. Employees of penitentiary cuffed Hazroyan and started beating the defendant in the court room despite calls of judge to stop attacks. They also used violence against the lawyer of Hazroyan after he urged them to stop beating his client.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, four privates were killed, four others wounded in the accident in one of the positions of Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army, on November 19, 2010.
Manvel Hazroyan, injured in the incident, was charged under Article 104, part 2 (assassination of one or more persons), 34- 104 part 2, paragraph 1 (assassination attempt of one or more persons), Article 365, part 1 (violation of military service rules).
Servicemen Levon S. Yesayan (born in 1991), Nerses V. Galoyan (born in 1990), Narek V. Sahakyan (born in 1990) and Nver M. Sargsyan (born in 1991) were killed. Four soldiers were wounded. They are Sargis A. Melkumyan (born in 1991), Khachik S. Alexanyan (born in 1992), Masis M. Grigoryan (born in 1991) and Manvel A. Hazroyan (born in 1991).
