YEREVAN. - South Caucasus Railway and the Georgian Railway reduced direct fares for Karmir Blur (Yerevan) – Poti (Georgia) container route from August 1.

The fare for a 40-foot container will be 0.70 Swiss francs per ton / km instead of former 0.86. Fare for an empty container will be - 0.35 Swiss francs instead of former 0.43. The changes will apply until December 31, 2011

The purpose of the changes is attracting new rail freight, increasing turnover between the two countries, as well as improving the competitiveness of rail transport.
