Armenian police issued a statement about the incident near the government building.
"Today during a public rally in front of the 3rd building of the government a group of people provoked a clash with police officers protecting public order, as a result of which two members of the police troops were taken to a medical institution. Five people on suspicion of hooliganism were brought to the central police station," reads the statement, the authors of which urged to show lawful behavior during public actions and comply with the requirements of the police.
YSMU Chief of Staff Shushan Danielyan said on her Facebook page that four citizens were brought to the university hospital from the Government building. Their condition is assessed as stable and there is no threat to their lives at the moment. Two of the 4 citizens are police officers.
