The Iranian military has built an underground base under the Zagros mountain range, which houses unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles, Janes reports, citing a report by a local TV channel.

According to the publication, the object is called Strategic base 313 and is part of the regular army of Iran. The base is located at a depth of several hundred meters underground. It houses about 100 drones, which are based in the tunnels, as well as cruise missiles.

On Saturday, the base was inspected by the chief of staff of the armed forces, General Mohammad Bagheri, who said that the Iranian military is rapidly developing its unmanned forces, creating new vehicles capable of performing various missions.

The released television footage of the base shows various models of drones armed with missiles.

The military also demonstrated two new types of cruise missiles, the Heidar-1 and Heidar-2, which can be launched from drones and helicopters.
