Germany will supply infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to Greece so that the government in Athens can transfer Soviet-style weapons to Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Tuesday, Reuters reports.

The ministries of defense will work out the details and quickly implement this agreement, he said.

According to Politico, Scholz said Germany would conduct a tank swap (Ringtausch) with Greece, allowing the country to send Soviet-era tanks to Ukraine in exchange for more modern German infantry fighting vehicles. He added that a similar ringtaush will be organized with Poland.
