The volume of local tobacco production decreased in Armenia in 2021, State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia reported.
Head of the RA State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan said this on 1 June during the preliminary discussion of the 2021 state budget performance during the joint session of parliamentary standing committees at the National Assembly.
The head of the State Revenue Committee commented on the low collection rate of excise tax. "The growth of tax revenues is registered for all types of taxes except excise tax. The reason for that is the reduction of the production volume of some of our economic entities," Badasyan said.
According to him, despite this, as well as the fact that the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the 44-day war continued to affect last year, the authorities managed to ensure tax revenues to the state budget.
