The Japanese government has amended the plan for the development of international cooperation and foreign infrastructure projects, excluding from it any mention of cooperation with Russia, the Kyodo news agency reported.

This is the so-called eight-point plan of Russian-Japanese economic cooperation, which was developed under former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and was first announced at a bilateral summit in May 2016.

The plan provided for the participation of Japanese companies in equipping airports and seaports in the Far East, cooperation in oil and gas projects, as well as Japan's participation in projects to support healthcare, education, tourism and humanitarian exchanges.

Last year's document indicated the development of cooperation in the creation of an urban environment, transport, medicine, and energy.

This was evidence of the freezing of cooperation with Russia in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the agency reports.
