According to official data, more than 2,100 participants of the Resistance Movement have been taken to various police stations so far. Resistance Movement coordinator Ishkhan Saghatelyan—the National Assembly deputy speaker from the opposition "Armenia" Faction and a representative of the Supreme Body of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party of Armenia—wrote this on Facebook Sunday evening.
"However, we know that not all those taken in have been documented by the Police. In fact, the number of those taken in is about 2,500.
In parallel to this, the entire Internet and the press are flooded with footage confirming the facts of police illegalities, atrocities, and inhuman treatment.
Armenia will not turn into a dictatorship.
Tomorrow at 19:00 we assemble at France Square [in downtown Yerevan]. We must show who the real master of Armenia is. We must show what the real values of Armenia are. We must show what kind of country we want to have," Saghatelyan added, in part.
