Director of the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Shchetinin spoke about possibility of some Latin American states joining the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) hypothetical.
“I would like to leave the discussion of this hypothetical possibility to the discretion of the expert circles you named, if they believe that there are some grounds for this,” the diplomat told TASS.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization is an international security organization whose members are currently six states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
