European partners assured that they are ready to liberalize the visa regime with Armenia, the final decision will be made by the EU member states, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paruyr Hovhannisyan said.

His remarks came on Monday on at the joint session of the parliamentary committees at the preliminary hearing on the state budget for 2021 in the National Assembly.

According to him, parliamentary and presidential elections were held in several EU countries. As a result, the discussion on visa liberalization with Armenia became irrelevant for a while.

"I believe there will be more favorable conditions in September to promote this issue. We keep this issue on the agenda of our dialogue with the EU," the deputy minister said.
