Germany's domestic intelligence service (Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz-BfV) published a detailed report on Turkey's 2021 spying activities in Germany, Deutsche Welle Turkish reported.

The BfV said in its report that Turkey was carrying out spying activities in Germany. Turkish intelligence and security units were conducting activities in Germany to track or infiltrate individuals of Turkish origin, BfV chief Thomas Haldenwang told reporters at a news conference.

Haldenwang said they are considering a possible scenario in which the Turkish government could further intensify its activities in Germany, and tensions within the Turkish community in Germany could increase ahead of elections expected to take place next year in Turkey.

“We will make an effort to prevent the conflicts in Turkey from being carried over to Germany,” Deutsche Welle cited German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser as saying.
