Dear Sergey Viktorovich, the Armenian people welcome you to Armenia. Welcome to Yerevan. Opposition MP Aram Vardevanyan stated this Thursday during a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia—and addressing Russian FM Sergey Lavrov.

According to the lawmaker, the Russian FM should record that the group of people currently in power in Armenia is only a formal force.

"They no longer represent the interests of the Armenian people and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic; that is, Artsakh. The Russian Federation has been and will be the ally of Armenia and the Armenian people, a brotherly country for us.

At the same time, we all know that during the last four years, this group of people in purely formal helm of power has done everything possible to create threats to the relations between Russia and Armenia; that is a fact. We are confident that in the near future, as soon as this de jure group of people is no longer in power, those threats will disappear and Armenia will become a powerful country, which is the real guarantor of the security of Artsakh, our brothers and sisters. And that is a fact, that is a fact," said the oppositionist.

According to Vardevanyan, the people in currently in power in Armenia represent only their interests.

"Even if they make various promises, announce their readiness to sign certain documents, all that will not have legal force; it will not happen at all," the opposition MP emphasized.
