Russian airlines are considering relocating to Turkey to prevent the imposition of sanctions against Russian aircraft, Bloomberg reports.

Pegas Touristik, which owns Nordwind Airlines, and Anex Tourism, which operates Azur Air, are considering creating Turkish airlines.

The firms are contacting leasing companies to get the planes, according to the publication, citing sources.

Azur Air and Nordwind, which are part of large travel companies controlled by Turkish businessmen, mainly take Russians to tourist destinations.

According to Bloomberg sources, the two carriers were not subject to individual sanctions from the West, so the move would not break any rules.

Anex could locate the new division in the southern city of Antalya, one of the country's main tourist destinations, while Pegas could open the Southwind airline, the sources said. New companies can start work this summer.
