The German concern Rheinmetall is modernizing 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), previously in service with the Bundeswehr, Armin Papperger, CEO of the concern, said in an interview with the Bild am Sonntag newspaper.
According to him, several infantry fighting vehicles are already ready for use and can be immediately sent to Ukraine. When and where these Marders will be delivered will be decided by the German government, Papperger added.
At the same time, Rheinmetall is upgrading 88 Leopard 1 tanks and several Leopard 2 tanks, Deutsche Welle reports.
