According to official data, 5229 marriages were registered in Armenia in January-April 2022, which is 5.6% less than last year.

It can be explained by socio-economic problems in the society, negative expectations as well as security problems.

With the decrease in marriages, the number of divorces is increasing. In January-April 1,492 divorces were registered in Armenia, which is 15% more than in the same period last year.

This led to the aggravation of demographic problems: in January-April 10,869 children were born in Armenia, which is 3.5% less than in the same period last year.
