As of May, inflation in Armenia was 9 percent. If nothing extraordinary happens again, by the end of the year—according to the Central Bank—inflation will be lower. Governor Martin Galstyan of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) said this during Monday’s debates on the execution of the 2021 state budget, at the meeting of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs of the National Assembly.

According to him, the aforesaid is a very high indicator from the point of view of the general historical development of the Armenian economy.

"Of course, inflation is much higher in partner countries, or in the countries surrounding us, than in Armenia. But it needs to be realized that a 9-percent inflation and a 9-percent increase in the consumer price index mean that the growth of prices for basic goods and food products has ended up at a higher level," said Galstyan.
