Bulgarian Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska has resigned, according to her party's decision to leave the government coalition, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported.
Earlier it was reported that Slavi Trifonov, leader of the There is Such a People party, announced his withdrawal from the party coalition. As part of this decision, Minister of Energy Alexander Nikolov and Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov have already resigned.
According to the constitution, Genchovska will serve as acting foreign minister until a new minister is appointed.
Prime Minister Kiril Petkov previously said that he hoped to maintain a minority government even after the collapse of the coalition.
Bulgaria had three early parliamentary elections in 2021 because of its inability to form a government at the end of the elections. Only after the elections in November were the politicians able to create a government coalition.
