Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan took part in the event organized by the Russian Embassy on the occasion of the Day of Russia.

The Deputy Prime Minister delivered a congratulatory speech. "In the newest history of the Russian state this holiday is marked by fundamental transformations in all spheres of life, which are based on the citizen, his interests and well-being, pride in the thousand-year history of his country, its present and future. And Russia has traveled this difficult road on its own, laying the foundations of a fundamentally new state and social order, clearly indicating what Russia will be in the 21st century. The peoples of Armenia and Russia are intertwined by numerous deep threads which create a solid foundation on which the interstate relations of our countries are built, becoming exemplary in terms of bilateral cooperation.

The establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia opened a new page in the newest history of our centuries-long friendship, on which the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, the 25th anniversary of which we are celebrating this year, is written with capital letters. The Armenian-Russian allied relations are marked by the interaction in the military and political spheres, effective and close cooperation within the EAEC, CSTO, CIS and other international organizations, successful bilateral partnership in the trade, economic, energy, transport and other important areas.

Today our joint efforts are aimed at identifying new promising areas of strategic cooperation. I am confident that with joint efforts we can expand allied relations and enrich them with new initiatives for the benefit of the citizens of Armenia and Russia, for economic and social progress as well as security and stability in the world and the region," Mher Grigoryan said.
