Georgia welcomes the support of the European Union (EU) for the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said this at the IX Global Baku Forum under the motto "Challenges to the Global World Order,” Azerbaijani media reported.

According to her, the EU has the necessary track-record in this regard.

"The South Caucasus can become an even more important region if long-term peace is established here," the Georgian leader said.

Also, she stressed the importance of the development of relations between the countries of the South Caucasus.

"The war in Ukraine once again showed how important it is for all countries to work together and support each other," Zourabichvili added.
