Ruling majority "Civil Contract" Faction of the National Assembly (NA) has nominated Anna Vardapetyan for the post of Prosecutor General of Armenia. The secretary of the aforesaid faction, Artur Hovhannisyan, informed about this on Facebook.

Serving Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan’s term of office will come to an end on September 16.

The Prosecutor General of Armenia is elected by the NA, upon the respective recommendation of the relevant NA standing committee, by at least three-fifths of the total number of votes by the MPs, and for a six-year term.
