The office of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has announced that his weakened ruling coalition will be dissolved and new parliamentary elections will be held in the country, PA MEDIA reports.

Bennett has struggled to maintain his non-partisan eight-party coalition ever since taking office a year ago.

The Israeli PM and his main coalition partner Yair Lapid have decided to hold a vote in the coming days to dissolve the parliament, Bennett's office added.
