After the shootings that took place two days ago in the territory of Aparan, Armenia, the condition of one of the two people hospitalized at "Armenia" Republican Medical Center in Yerevan continues to be critical, while the other is in stable but severe condition. Ashot Kurghinyan, deputy director of the hospital, told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
And the 18-year-old, who was hospitalized in "Astghik" Medical Center in Yerevan as a result of the aforesaid shootings, is also in stable but severe condition, they informed Armenian News-NEWS.am from this hospital.
A murder took place Sunday evening on the road from Aparan city to Nigavan village.
Aparan city medical center had admitted seven people with bodily injuries, including gunshot wounds. One of the wounded had died without regaining consciousness, and the six others were transferred to two medical centers in the capital Yerevan. Hours later, however, another one of them had died.
According to the respective facts ascertained, at around 10:30pm on June 18, while driving with his brother in Aparan, a 32-year-old resident of the capital Yerevan honked the horn of his car to another vehicle, passed the latter and stopped it.
Then they approached the driver of this vehicle and talked to him about his driving. But this conversation was intervened by a group of residents of Aparan.
The conversation turned into an argument, which continued in the beginning of Aparan.
To continue the aforesaid conversation, the next day, the 32-year-old man and his brother went—with several people—to the area of a gas station in Aparan, met with one of the people who had interfered in their conversation the day before, and beat him.
The conversation about the same issue continued at around 7:30pm in the area near the landfill of Nigavan village, during which the 32-year-old man fired from a rifle at the people arguing with them.
As a result, two people—27-year-old residents of Aparan—who were taken to Aparan Medical Center with gunshot wounds, died at the hospital, and five others were taken to some other medical centers.
The 32-year-old man has been detained. Neither the investigative body nor the police, however, publicize his name.
According to media reports, those involved in this incident are the relatives of ruling Civil Contract Party (CCP) lawmaker Matevos Asatryan and the cousin of Edgar Parvanyan, the CCP member deputy governor of Aragatsotn Province, and the argument had started when the youth from Aparan had cursed PM Nikol Pashinyan.
All seven dead and wounded are from the Aparan region.
The criminal investigation continues.
