Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman landed in the Turkish capital Ankara, making his first visit to the country since the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul, CNN reported.
The trip comes amid a push by the West and the wider Middle East to restore relations with Riyadh in an attempt to ease financial tensions caused by the pandemic and skyrocketing energy prices caused by the situation around Ukraine.
In April, Erdogan met with the Crown Prince in the Saudi city of Jeddah, ending years of diplomatic strife between the two countries.
The crown prince is the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia. The story around the murder of Khashoggi has strained Riyadh's relations with many Western countries and, in particular, with Turkey.
