Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has canceled her visit to the port of Yokohama as part of a trip to Japan next week, a Treasury Department spokeswoman said Saturday, out of respect for the memory of deceased former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Reuters reported.

On Tuesday, Yellen was scheduled to visit the Port of Yokohama to take part in a round table with business leaders, inspect the facilities and give a speech.

A Treasury spokesman said that Yellen's bilateral meetings in Japan will still take place. On Tuesday, she has a meeting with Finance Minister Suzuki Shunichi.

She will also meet with officials from South Korea and other G20 countries as she tries to rally support for capping Russian oil prices during her trip to Asia, the Treasury Department said on Friday.

The trip - Yellen's first visit to the Indo-Pacific as treasury secretary - comes amid growing questions about how effectively capping Russian oil prices can work without the support of India and other countries that are now buying cheap Russian oil.
