An announcement was disseminated at the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Monday, according to which the ruling majority "Civil Contract" Faction launched calling a session of the NA Council whereby to petition to the Constitutional Court to deprive a group of opposition MPs of their mandates. But this announcement was removed shortly after.

The NA explained to Armenian News-NEWS.am that this announcement was removed due to technical problems related to the date of this session, but the aforesaid matter was on the agenda.

There may be an announcement in this regard today.

About a dozen opposition lawmakers have been absent from half of the voting during one NA sitting. And it is on these grounds that the NA Council can make a decision and petition to the Constitutional Court so that these MPs lose their parliamentary seats.

Among these legislators are Armen Charchyan, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Gegham Manukyan, Vahe Hakobyan, Lilit Galstyan, Armen Rustamyan, Andranik Tevanyan, Aspram Krpeyan, Artur Vanetsyan, and Artur Ghazinyan. To note, the last two have already resigned from their parliamentary mandates
