British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia John Gallagher on 6-8 July, visited Vayots Dzor and Syunik provinces to familiarize with the results of a number of programs funded by Great Britain.

He met with local authorities, discussed the process of British support for Armenia's border regions and learned about the problems and challenges the United Kingdom can contribute to solving.

Gallagher visited Goris, Kapan, Meghri, Vayk and Yeghegnadzor and neighboring villages, and met with Syunik Regional Governor Robert Ghukasyan, Vayots Dzor Regional Governor Ararat Grigoryan, Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan, and beneficiaries of programs, the British Embassy in Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

On the last day of the visit, the Ambassador visited Meghri border crossing point, where he met with the customs representatives and discussed the results of the customs administration development program funded by the Good Governance Foundation of Great Britain. The program supported capacity building and modernization of systems to improve the efficiency of the customs clearance process for goods crossing the border.
