President Vahagn Khachaturyan of Armenia on Thursday visited the French embassy on the occasion of the French National Day, and congratulated French Ambassador Anne Louyot on this holiday.

In his respective remarks, the Armenian President emphasized that this holiday is very important not only for the French, but also for the entire progressive humanity, as it is symbolic of the ideas of freedom, brotherhood, and equality.

Also, Vahagn Khachaturyan lauded France's support and friendly attitude in the development of various domains in Armenia ever since the latter’s declaration of its independence—in 1991.

Ambassador Louyot, for her part, thanked the President for the visit.

The interlocutors stressed the continued development of special Armenian-French friendly relations, and exchanged views on the current agendas of interaction and future cooperation.
