YEREVAN. – Robert Khachatryan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, on Wednesday received US Ambassador Lynne Tracy.

The Ministry of High-Tech Industry of informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the parties discussed the current cooperation between the two countries in the high-tech sector.

Khachatryan emphasized the assistance provided by the US in the development of the technological sector in Armenia, thanks to which many engineering enterprises were established in the country.

Ambassador Tracy, in turn lauded the fact that the progress of the high-tech sector connects Armenia mostly with knowledge and education, promoting the development model of the knowledge-based economy.

During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding Armenia-US cooperation in a number of technological sectors were discussed.

Reference was made also to the role played by the USAID and the Armenian diaspora in the US in the development of high-tech industry, the Engineering City project, and a number of other matters of mutual interest.
